El Pino Gordo

The Pino Gordo (translated as "Fat Pine") is one of the most iconic natural landmarks in Tenerife, located in the charming mountain village of Vilaflor, the highest village in the Canary Islands. This majestic Canary Island pine tree (Pinus canariensis) stands out for its impressive size and age. With a trunk circumference of over 9 meters and a height of approximately 45 meters, the Pino Gordo is the largest and oldest pine trees in the Canary Islands, estimated to be more than 800 years old.
