Overview
PADI scuba diver training is the most popular and widely recognised dive training throughout the world. With the Open Water certification you can dive to a recommended depth of 18m anywhere around the world. It will transform your future holidays as you explore the underwater world around the globe. The certification can be upgraded to PADI Advanced Open Water at any PADI Dive Center, allowing you access to even more dive sites.

What To Expect
Each student needs to complete online dive theory in their own time. The first day of the course is spent practicing skills in confined water - either in a pool or sheltered bay. On days 2 and 3 we will complete 4 Open Water dives with you, with a mix of boat and shore dives. The length of the day is normally around 5-6 hours.

- Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
- Not recommended for pregnant travelers
- Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
- Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
- Diving less than 24 hours before flying is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 6 travelers

(7)Q: How soon can I fly in an airplane after Scuba diving?
A: Participants in the PADI Open Water course in Playa de las Americas cannot fly in an airplane within 24 hours of their dive. The main concern with scuba diving and flying is decompression sickness (DCS). Your body needs adequate time during an ascent to off-gas excess nitrogen, or you can form bubbles in your bloodstream, possibly leading to DCS. Read more Jun 2024
